Building Grenada

To help us develop our map reading skills we worked together to build a model of Grenada in the hall, using the map to make sure our model was as accurate as possible.
We started with a blank space...

We looked carefully at the map...

...then we began to fill the space!

We kept checking the map to make sure we were putting everything in the right place!

Anansi and the Tiger

We have started work on Anansi stories in English this week! Anansi stories are about a mischievous man (who can also turn into a spider) and his adventures. We have learnt how Anansi stories originated in West Africa but were brought to to the Caribbean by slaves. We discussed how the slave trade is a sad, but important part of the history of the Caribbean and Grenada. We then began looking in detail at the story of Anansi and the Tiger, which tells why all stories belong to Anansi. Here are some photos of us making freeze frames of important moments in the story!
